Students for Sensible Drug Policy
Midwest Conference 2009
SSDP is an organization made up of thousands of bright and committed young people at Universities all across the U.S. and other parts of the world. We are activists in the fast-growing movement for drug policy reform. The views we share are not radical or extreme--in fact, they are quite mainstream. A majority of Americans believe the Drug War has failed, and alternative strategies must be considered.
SSDP encourages open and honest discussion on these alternatives, and the Midwest regional conference will be a great opportunity for many students to participate in such an exchange of views and ideas. We hope that all students who attend this conference will walk away empowered with the knowledge and skills to become more effective activists and have greater motivation to change counter-productive drug policies in their own area.
The main conference day is Sunday, April 5th and it will be open to the public (non-students are welcome). Activities are planned the preceding Friday and Saturday for members of SSDP. Please read below for more information regarding registration, as well as logsitics, including the current schedule of events.
